12 April 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta held a meeting with Moscow Government Minister for International Economic Cooperation Mr. Sergey Cheremin on April 08 at the Moscow City Hall.
The meeting charted the cooperation between the Embassy and the City Government’s Department for External Economic and International Cooperation - which will include a Philippine Street Festival in Moscow’s historic Arbat Street in September of this year – as part of the celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of the Philippines and the Russian Federation.
Minister Cheremin expressed his interest in the proposed activity, saying that it is an excellent way to introduce the Philippines to Muscovites as a business partner and a leisure destination. Both sides agreed to further discuss details of the event as well as other areas of cooperation between the Philippines and the Russian capital.
Ambassador Sorreta was accompanied by the Embassy’s Economic Officer Mr. Jeffrey Angelo Valdez and Ms. Ekaterina Kuznetsova, Interpreter.
