12 April 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Moscow commenced the 30-day Overseas Absentee Voting “ELEKSYON 2016” for the National Election 2016 on April 09.

The Philippine Embassy, Moscow conducts personal and postal voting for nine countries under its jurisdiction namely Russia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The Embassy has a total of 2,391 registered voters, with 1,447 voters from Russian alone. 

Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta was present during the start of the overseas absentee voting. On his live interview for UNTV special election coverage, Ambassador Sorreta encouraged fellow kababayans to exercise their right to vote this 2016 National Election. “Sana po ay pumunta sa Embahada at bumoto, kung di ninyo kayang pumunta sa Embahada ay ipagpaalam nyo sa amin at aming ipapadala ang inyong balota,” said Ambassador Sorreta.

Overseas Voting will end on May 09 at 12: 00 (Moscow Time). END
