21 December 2015 – The Filipino Association in Russia (FAR,) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Philippines in Moscow, held its annual gift giving celebration for selected charity institutions in Russia, on 13 December 2015 at the Embassy. 

This year, KITESH Children Community and its sister community ORION were chosen as recipients of donations (e.g. clothing and toys) collected from Filipinos in Russia.  These two non-profit organizations of foster families provide assistance to orphaned children. 

Ms. Ekaterina Shumeiko, representative of Kitesh and Orion, thanked the Filipino community in Russia for its continued support for the Kitesh and Orion Children Communities.

During the event, FAR members performed Ifugao and Russian folk dances for the children who in return performed an excerpt of the play “The Nutcracker.”

Both Kitesh and Orion, founded in 1992 and 2004, respectively, are based in the Kaluga region in the southern part of Moscow. END.
