28 December 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta administered the oath of office of the newly elected officers of the Filipino Association in Russia (FAR) at the Embassy of the Philippines in Moscow on December 13.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sorreta emphasized that FAR is a valuable partner in promoting the welfare of the Filipino community and people-to-people relations between the Philippines and Russia. FAR’s regular projects include medical, dental, and flu vaccination missions for Filipinos in Moscow as well as charity drives and sports tournaments.

FAR is the oldest and biggest Filipino community organization in Russia with around 300 members. Its new set of officers is headed by Mr. Joel Santarina, who took over from longtime president Dr. Cesar Dalida. END
