Amb. Sorreta conferred the “Ambassador’s Recognition” to two outstanding Filipinos - Dr. Cesar Dalida, MD and Chef Geronimo Reduta - for their contribution in promoting the welfare of OFWs and the country’s image in Russia, respectively. As President of the Filipino Association in Russia (FAR), Dr. Dalida initiated concrete humanitarian projects not only for fellow Filipinos but also for Russian and other foreign nationals.  Chef Reduta, on the other hand, is an expert in both European and Asian cuisine and a skilled food stylist. As Executive Chef in a Moscow restaurant chain, he helped promote Philippine gastronomy by introducing Filipino-inspired culinary creations to the Russian public.

The Embassy also organized a singing competition and raffled off prizes to the delight of the community.
