28 September 2016 — Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta, highlighted potential areas of economic cooperation between the Philippines in Russia in a recent interview with Russia Beyond the Headlines (RBTH).

In the interview, Ambassador Sorreta expressed optimism that relations in general between the Philippines and Russia will continue to strengthen in all areas.  He noted that while circumstances of history had not led to deeper relations, he believed that there should be no obstacles to building closer ties with Russia.
