30 June 2015 – Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta participated as a panelist and resource speaker at the 5th rAsia.com International Innovation Forum held on June 22.
The rAsia.com Forum is a unique gathering of tech-entrepreneurs, startups, investors and artists with a focus on Russia-Asia cooperation. It is held annually in the Digital October, a section of the famous Red October chocolate factory that was converted into a tech hub.
This year’s Forum featured Russia-ASEAN business relations as one of the key sessions and Ambassador Sorreta delivered a talk on the subject from the Philippine perspective. Also present in the panel were Indonesian Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun and Mr. Oleg Gorbulin of the National Investment Alliance. Mr. Victor Tarusin, Executive Director of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council moderated the discussions.
Ambassador Sorreta’s talk highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges as well as transparent, rules-based environments in increasing interest among businesspeople. END
