10 December 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Moscow organized a students’ forum on December 04 entitled “Students’ Forum: Getting to know the Philippines”. It was attended by philology students specializing in Filipino and Bahasa Indonesia from the Institute of Asian and African Studies of the prestigious Moscow State University. The students were accompanied by Prof. Ekaterina Baklanova (Senior Researcher, Philippine Philology), Prof. Elena Frolova (Senior Professor, Philippine Philology), and Prof. Marina Frolova (Professor, Indonesian Philology).

Embassy officials, led by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Melchor P. Lalunio, Jr., engaged in an open and candid dialogue with the students and their professors on topics related to Philippine history, society, culture, politics, economy, and foreign relations.

The forum aimed at promoting greater awareness and a positive image of the Philippines among the Russian youth in the interest of forging closer Philippines-Russia bilateral relations. END
