moscow vaccine

29 October 2014 - The Filipino Association in Russia (FAR), with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, held a successful Annual Flu Vaccination drive at the Philippine Embassy on October 12 and 19.

Flu vaccine shots were given under the supervision of FAR President Dr. Cesar Dalida.  Around 245 Filipinos living in Moscow availed of the flu vaccine as a preventive measure against a possible intense cold weather in Russia this year.  Likewise, free medical and dental consultations were conducted by Dr. Dalida and Dr. Melanie Cayasen, respectively.

Along with the medical and dental mission, FAR also organized its first Charity Clothing Drive for the marginalized residents of the Moscow region.  FAR will give the donated items to two registered Russian charitable organizations, Moscow Protestant Chaplaincy (MPC) and Orion Children’s Community (Orion).

Established in 1962, MPC is an international, multidenominational Christian church serving the English-speaking community in Moscow. MPC provides shelter and security for the homeless where donated clothes and household items are used.  Orion, founded in 2004, is a non-profit community of foster families that aims to provide abandoned and orphaned children a home.
