The victorious Philippine Canoe Kayak Dragonboat Federation (PCKDF) team with
Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta at the Philippine Embassy in Moscow.

The Philippine Embassy in Moscow hosted a victory merienda on 12 September 2016 for the Philippine Canoe, Kayak, and Dragon Boat Federation (PCKDF) team which won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the 2016 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Dragon Boat World Championships in Moscow. 

In congratulating the team, Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta said “Yours is an outstanding and inspiring accomplishment.  You overcame unfamiliar and difficult weather and bested some of the top dragon boat teams in the world and brought great honor to our country.”

Also with the Team that visited the Embassy were PCKDF Secretary General Joanne Go and Coach Leonora Escollante.  The Team returned to Manila the next day.

Ambassador Sorreta told the Team members that they have done their country proud and have shown that “whether it’s winning a race, building a community or building a nation, team work is essential.”
