05 May 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Moscow hosted a briefing for the 70-person delegation from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) headed by its President, Mr. Angel Ngu                                                

The Embassy’s Economic Section gave a presentation on prevailing economic trends, key figures and various opportunities for deepening commercial ties between the Philippines and Russia. Ms. Olga Byrukova of the Center for Eurasian Cooperation and Development, one of the Embassy’s partner organizations, also spoke on the subject.

In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta hailed the Federation’s vast contribution not just in the business sphere but also in their social advocacies.

Before heading to Moscow, the FFCCCII delegation visited St. Petersburg where they attended business-matching meetings with members of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of Philippine Honorary Consul General Mr. Sergey Alexeev.

The group represented various business sectors such as food and beverages, civil aviation, manufacturing, metals and minerals, and import/export.

FFCCCII, which unites the numerous Filipino-Chinese business chambers across the country, was founded in 1954 and continues to be one of the most important business organizations in the country. END
