08 April 2016 – Russia’s leading casual clothing brand, SELA, successfully launched its “Inspired by the Philippines” Collection on March 24 in Moscow. The event was attended by Russian media representatives from fashion magazines, travel websites and social media influencers.

The collection, a result of a cross-promotion with the Philippines’ Department of Tourism, is part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2016 line and includes special edition printed t-shirts that represents the different cultural elements and tourist attractions of the Philippines.

Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta opened the event and referred to the collection as “an excellent collaboration between Filipinos and Russians that reflects the best of both cultures”.  He added that, “the cross-promotion is a very efficient way of engaging the Russian public and will definitely lead to increased awareness of the Philippines as a tourism destination”.

The photo shoot for the collection’s marketing campaign was done entirely in the Philippines and featured the country’s beautiful destinations as backdrop.
