23 December 2015 –ASEAN Moscow Committee (AMC) in cooperation with ASEAN Centre in MGIMO University headed by Dr. Victor Sumsky organized an essay writing competition on the ASEAN community building process.  Around 186 university students from Russia and ASEAN member countries participated in the said competition.

The awarding ceremony took place on 23 December 2015 at the MGIMO University, in Moscow. The event was attended by representatives of ASEAN Embassies, professors, students, and friends of the ASEAN Centre in MGIMO University.

The first prize winners were Ms. Liliya Ganeeva from Russian Federation and Mr. Somphospheak Heng from ASEAN. Ms. Ganeeva received a roundtrip ticket to Jakarta and was given the privilege to do an internship at the ASEAN Secretariat. Meanwhile, Mr. Heng will travel to Moscow and do an internship at the ASEAN Centre in Moscow.

The program also included a presentation on the Centre’s accomplishments, introduction of the Centre’s new partner, Biblio-Globus Trading House, and preview of photo exhibition on the Philippines by Mr. Sergei Kovalchuk. END
