21 December 2015 – Senator Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council, called on Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta on December 17 to discuss specific activities in key cooperation areas between the Philippines and Russia.
Senator Klimov highlighted the importance of the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Russia as well as the 20th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership that will both be celebrated in 2016.
He briefed the Ambassador regarding planned activities to celebrate the important milestones concerning parliamentary cooperation, mining and food security. For his part, Ambassador Sorreta responded favorably and promised Philippine support to the initiatives discussed. END
