06 October 2015 – The Governor of Cebu Province Hilario Davide III visited St. Petersburg and Moscow on a working visit co-organized by the Philippine Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Philippines-Russia Business Assembly (PRBA) and the Russia-Philippines Business Council (RPBC). Governor Davide was joined by his wife, Jobelle, Russian Honorary Consul for Cebu and Chairperson of PRBA Ms. Armi Lopez Garcia, officials of the Cebu provincial government and members of the business community.

The visit included meetings with the Governor of St. Petersburg Region, Mr. Georgy Poltavchenko, the management of the St. Petersburg Water Services Company, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federal Council (Senate) Mr. Ilyas Umakhanov, and a roundtable forum organized by the Russia-Philippines Business Council.

During the business roundtable, the delegation met with Russian businesspersons in the field of waste management, construction materials, helicopter transport services and clothing.

On October 01, Philippine Ambassador to the Russian Federation Carlos D. Sorreta and his wife, Ma. Consuelo, hosted a dinner in honor of the Governor and his delegation at the Ambassador’s residence. Governor Davide thanked the Embassy for its assistance during the visit of the delegation and pledged to enhance cooperation between Cebu and its Russian partners. END
