05 September 2014 - A delegation from the Philippine Science High School-Diliman (PSHS), composed of Adrielle Theresa DL. Cusi, John Christian G. Nacpil, and Lizbeth Joy G. Tan, won recognition at the 10th International Student’s Science Fair (ISSF) held in Moscow, Russia from August 8 to 12.
Their research, titled the “Development of a Leap Motion Controller-based Program for Finger Range-of-Motion Measurement,” was one of the three projects awarded as “Most Creative and Innovative” out of 23 projects in the Biotechnology, Health, and Medicine cluster. The PSHS students were accompanied by teacher/adviser Donna Salve P. Cornes.
The ISSF is a yearly event that aims to facilitate networking and information-sharing among students and teachers from various countries in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The 10th ISSF was hosted by the Moscow Chemical Lyceum #3103 (MCL) in collaboration with the Lift to the Future organization and the People’s Friendship University of Russia. Delegates from 25 countries presented a total of 120 projects in both poster exhibitions and roundtable discussions. Projects were divided into five different clusters namely, Biotechnology, Health, & Medicine; Energy, Engineering & Robotics; Information Technology & Telecommunications; and Sustainability & Environmental Science.
